St. Benedict Classical Homeschool Program offers homeschooling families a structured on-site program 1 or 2 days per week, with curriculum provided for at-home study the remaining days. The program is classical in method—meaning it aims through the use of exercises in imitation, memory work, close readings, and linguistic analysis, to develop the intellect to sort out truth from error, good from evil, and order from chaos. Meanwhile, the content of the program fosters the students’ imaginations and self-understanding as inheritors of a great Catholic culture through an Area Studies seminar. Focused on the Medieval period this year, the seminar is built around lively discussion of historical and literary works that reveal the students’ own story—our own reality as Man—as they come to understand History as the narrative of God’s love for Man and Man’s response to the promptings of Grace.
St. Benedict Classical Homeschool Program is hosted on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Ss. Cyril & Methodius from September-May, and presently accommodates students from age 8-15. We are beginning the process of enrollment for the Fall 2012 semester. Please contact us to learn more or to request an enrollment packet.
